30th Annual Prize-giving for the Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition

The NACC is pleased to inform the nation that the prizegiving ceremony for the 30th Annual Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition will be held on Wednesday 18th June 2014 at the Audiovisual Room NALIS, National Library, Hart & Abercomby Streets, Port of Spain from 6.00 pm. Following a reception the formal aspect of the ceremony will begin at 7.00 pm.


The results of the competition for this year were as follows:

1st place – Bevon St. Clair – Another Flambeau

2nd place – Nyol Manswell – A Better World

3rd place – Heaven Charles (Snakey) – The Dhoti Song

4th place – Dillon Thomas – Bun De Grass

5th place – Ravi Bissambhar (Ravi B) – Till Next Carnival

6th place – Kyle Cowie (KC) – My Will Be Done

7th place – Gary Thomasos (M'BA) – Break They Neck

8th place – Niklas Gosine  Snakes

9th place – Allan Welch – Soil Technician

10th place – Derrick Seales – Black Angel

11th place – Deneison Moses ( Dee Diamond) – Crime Doh Pay

12th place – Hamidullah Wahid (Hamidullah) – Brand Name Kaiso

13th place – Eric James – Stop Taking Chain Up

14th place – Carlton Louison – Great Is Calypso

NACC announces Order of Appearance for Young Kings finalists

The National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) wishes to announce the order of appearance for the 2016 National Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition, which will be held on Monday 25th January at Queen's Park Savannah, POS from 7:30pm. The Young Kings competition is the nation's second longest running national calypso competition. This year, twenty-one artistes will be competing for the prestigious crown, in the show's 32nd national finals. The order of appearance is as follows.

Duane Ta’zyah O’Connor and Kerine 'Tiny' Williams Win 2016 Emancipation Competition Crowns

DUANE TA'ZYAH O'CONNOR   is the winner of the first prize in the 5-17 age group of the Emancipation Calypso Competition hosted on Tuesday 26 th July, 2016, by the National Action Cultural Committee in association with First Citizens and the National Youth Action Committee, at City Hall, Knox Street, Port-of-Spain.
