Top 20 Stars of Gold 2015


MEDIA RELEASE

The National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) is pleased to present the list of the Top 20 Calypso Stars of Gold (attached).

The 'Top 20' Awards are awards of distinction and represent the pinnacle of achievement for excellence in calypso composition and our system of adjudication seeks to tap our collective wisdom in order to establish national consensus about the essence of truly great calypsoes.

The Award ceremony for the "28th Annual Top 20 Stars of Gold and Calypso of the Year" will take place on Friday 13th November 2015, at the Central Bank Auditorium, Eric Williams Plaza, Port of Spain from 8.00 pm.


The Calypso of the Year will be announced on the evening of the Award ceremony

All singers will be accompanied by the orchestra (Earl Knight and the Top 20 Orchestra) contracted for the evening's performance.

The National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) wishes to announce the order of appearance for the 2016 National Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition, which will be held on Monday 25th January at Queen's Park Savannah, POS from 7:30pm. The Young King Calypso Monarch Competition  was hosted  on Monday night  (2 nd   February) by the National Action Cultural Committee at the Grand Stand, Queen's Park Savannah. Duane Ta’zyah O’Connor and Kerine 'Tiny' Williams Win 2016 Emancipation Competition Crowns

DUANE TA'ZYAH O'CONNOR   is the winner of the first prize in the 5-17 age group of the Emancipation Calypso Competition hosted on Tuesday 26 th July, 2016, by the National Action Cultural Committee in association with First Citizens and the National Youth Action Committee, at City Hall, Knox Street, Port-of-Spain.
