NACC hosts its 33rd Annual Emancipation Day Dinner

News Release

The National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) hosts its 33rd Annual Emancipation Day Dinner at the Andre Kamperveen Hall, Centre of Excellence, 176 Macoya Road, Tunapuna on Friday 7th August 2015, from 8.00 pm.

This annual dinner is one of NACC's commemorative events, to mark the Abolition of Chattel Slavery throughout the then existing British Empire on August 1st 1834, a most significant development in the struggle of a people to free themselves from the shackles of slavery, colonialism and neo-colonialism. It serves as a mark of respect and recognition, for all those who fought and sacrificed for the attainment of liberation not only for their generation but for generations to come.

The dinner will be attended by members of the diplomatic community, as well as the leadership of various national institutions, including business, military, political and social organisations.

Each dinner continues to provide a unique opportunity for reflection on Emancipation Day, while providing an evening of social interaction and inspirational entertainment.

Interested persons may contact the NACC offices at 623-5470 / 222-3471.
