Amrika Mutroo is the 2016 Star of Tomorrow

Amrika Mutroo is the new Star of Tomorrow. Mutroo won the Stars of Tomorrow Calypso Competition hosted by the National Youth Action Committee on Saturday (9th January), at Daaga Hall, UWI, St. Augustine.

The placings and selections rendered are as follows:

 

1st place – Amrika Mutroo – All Lives Matter

2nd place – Ezekiel Yorke – Beyond the Tape

3rd place – Sasha Ann Moses – A Matter of Trust

4th place – Kyle Cowie – Early Warning

 5th place – Helon Francis – Real Bandit

6th place – Aneka Collins  - A Chant for d Griot

7th place – Kerine Williams  - Fruits Ain't Ripe Yet

8th place – Shradah Mc Intyre  - Who's Gonna Carry On

9th place – Mark Eastman - Reflection

Results of the 2014 Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition

Bevon St. Clair is the 2014 Young King Calypso Monarch. St. Clair won the compettion with a calypso entitled “ Another Flambeau ”. The Young King Calypso Monarch Competition   was hosted last night (Monday 17 th February) by the National Action Cultural Committee at the National Academy for the performing Arts (NAPA). The results are as follows:

NACC announces Order of Appearance for Young Kings finalists

The National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) wishes to announce the order of appearance for the 2016 National Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition, which will be held on Monday 25th January at Queen's Park Savannah, POS from 7:30pm. The Young Kings competition is the nation's second longest running national calypso competition. This year, twenty-one artistes will be competing for the prestigious crown, in the show's 32nd national finals. The order of appearance is as follows.
