32nd Emancipation Dinner and Public Lecture

Re: Prof. Verene Shepherd, guest of the NACC

Professor Verene Shepherd, Director of the Regional Institute for Gender & Development Studies, University of the West Indies and Co-Chairman of the Caribbean Reparations Committee will be the feature speaker at the 32^nd Annual Emancipation Day Dinner of the National Action Cultural Committee (NACC). The dinner will be held on Saturday 9^th August, at the Andre Kamperveen Hall, Centre of Excellence, Macoya, Tunapuna from 8 p.m.

Professor Shepherd will also speak at a public lecture and discussion on Tuesday 12^th August, 2014, at the Audio Visual Room, NALIS, cor. Hart and Abercromby Sts., Port-of-Spain, from 7 p.m.

Her topic at both events will be: "In Their Name: Caribbean Women, Slavery and Reparations".

2015 Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition Results

The Young King Calypso Monarch Competition was hosted on Monday night (2 nd February) by the National Action Cultural Committee at the Grand Stand, Queen's Park Savannah. Audition Dates for the 2016 National Calypso Queen, Young Kings and Stars of Tomorrow Competitions

December 1, 2015 News Release Auditions' dates for Young Kings, National Calypso Queens and Stars of Tomorrow Competitions Announced The National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) and the National Women Action Committee (NWAC) will host the auditions for the ' Young Kings Calypso Monarch' and the 'National Calypso Queen' Competitions, from 11.00 am on Saturday 12 th December 2015 and Sunday 13th December, 2015.

NACC announces Order of Appearance for Young Kings finalists

The National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) wishes to announce the order of appearance for the 2016 National Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition, which will be held on Monday 25th January at Queen's Park Savannah, POS from 7:30pm. The Young Kings competition is the nation's second longest running national calypso competition. This year, twenty-one artistes will be competing for the prestigious crown, in the show's 32nd national finals. The order of appearance is as follows.
