Dr Verene Shepherd-to meet with the Trinidad & Tobago National Committee on Reparations

Members of the Trinidad and Tobago National Committee on Reparations (TTNRC) as well as nationals of the African diaspora are set to benefit from the knowledge and experience of the co-Chairperson of the CARICOM Reparations Commission (CRC) Dr. Verene Shepherd as Emancipation is observances continue this month.

Dr. Shepherd, who is also the Chair of Jamaica's National Commission on Reparations, arrived in Trinidad and Tobago for a five (5) day visit on August 8^th 2014 and she will be here until August 13^th 2014.

She is a much sought after speaker, who has presented numerous seminars, conference papers and delivered many public lectures locally, regionally and internationally on African and Caribbean studies.

During her stay in this country she will attend the 9^th meeting of the Trinidad and Tobago National Committee on Reparations.

At the meeting Letters of Investiture will be presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs The Honourable Winston Dookeran followed which the TTNCR will hold its meeting with Dr. Shepherd.

The meeting is carded to be held on Tuesday 12^th August 2014 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, level 14 of the Waterfront Complex, Wrightson Road, Port of Spain.

Audition Dates for the 2016 National Calypso Queen, Young Kings and Stars of Tomorrow Competitions

December 1, 2015 News Release Auditions' dates for Young Kings, National Calypso Queens and Stars of Tomorrow Competitions Announced The National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) and the National Women Action Committee (NWAC) will host the auditions for the ' Young Kings Calypso Monarch' and the 'National Calypso Queen' Competitions, from 11.00 am on Saturday 12 th December 2015 and Sunday 13th December, 2015.

NACC announces Order of Appearance for Young Kings finalists

The National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) wishes to announce the order of appearance for the 2016 National Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition, which will be held on Monday 25th January at Queen's Park Savannah, POS from 7:30pm. The Young Kings competition is the nation's second longest running national calypso competition. This year, twenty-one artistes will be competing for the prestigious crown, in the show's 32nd national finals. The order of appearance is as follows.
