The National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) will host the 28 th Annual prizegiving ceremony for the Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition (2012) on Sunday 24 th June 2012 at the Audiovisual Room, NALIS, National Library Building, Hart and Abercromby Streets, Port of Spain from 5.00 pm. The NACC is pleased to note that this year the Young Kings Calypso Monarch, Duanne O’Connor, also won the prestigious title of Calypso Monarch 2012 thus maintaining our tradition of nurturing a generation of artistes who have maintained the highest standards in calypso performances.

The Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition was hosted on Monday 6 th February by the National Action Cultural Committee at the Lord Kitchener Auditorium, NAPA. The results for this year’s finals were as follows: 1 st place – Duane O’Connor – The Hunt Is On 2 nd place – Steven Marcelle – Stand Up and Be Counted 3 rd place – Prince – Diary of a Madman 4 th place – Sekon Alves – Where Anything Goes, Everything Goes 5 th place – Dillon Thomas – A Woman’s Worth 6 th place – Derrick Seales – The Clash 7 th place –Nigel Salickram – Blood 8 th place – Dee Diamond – L.A.C. 9 th place – Rondell Greaves – Hold Strain 10 th place – Sheldon Nugget – It’s Not Over 11 th place – Ninja – Queen Ah De Pack 12 th place – Blaxx - Sound De Horn 13 th place – Bro. Alpha – He Take In Front 14 th place – Hamidullah – From Ah Distance
