National Calypso Queen Competition 2015

NEWS RELEASE Ife Alleyne is the new National Calypso Queen. She won the National Calypso Queen Competition hosted by the National Women's Action Committee (NWAC) on Monday night (19 th January), at Queen's Hall, with a selection entitled " Child of Liberty ". Passing of Bro Anum Bankole

News Release It is with a deep sense of loss, that the National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) informs the nation of the passing away, on Sunday 11 th January 2015, of Brother Anum Bankole at the Port of Spain General Hospital after a recent illness. Brother Bankole, a foundation member and former Vice President of NACC, was well known for his work in the field of culture. He was instrumental in the organizing of major cultural events hosted by the National Action Cultural Committee such as the Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition, Top Twenty Stars of Gold Calypso Award Ceremony, The Emancipation Calypso Competition, Black Tradition in Arts andvarious Annual Community Cultural Rallies held in various parts of the country.

Alleyne won the Stars of Tomorrow Calypso Competition hosted by the National Youth Action Committee yesterday (Sunday 11th January), at Daaga Hall, UWI, St. Augustine.
